STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS & ACTIVITIESScholarships:
The Golden West Section Officers and Board have awarded a 2006 Scholarship Award of $ 2,000 to Ms. Beverly K. Coleman - a PH.D student in the Civil & Environmental Engineering program at UC - Berkeley. Ms. Coleman received her Bachelor's degree from UT-Austin before joining the 5-year MS/PH.D program at UC-Berkeley, received the MS degree in 2005, and has a 3.96/4.00 GPA in her graduate work to date. Since undergraduate days, Beverly's research focus has been on investigating a broad range of sources in the area of Indoor Air Quality, and her current PH.D. thesis title is Exposure-Relevant Ozone Chemistry in Occupied Spaces. She received outstanding references from her principal UC-Berkeley professors - Bill Nazaroff and Bob Harley. The Golden West Section plans to provide scholarships again in 2007 for students attending colleges or universities in our Section's geographic area.
